[보도자료] 쿠팡 박대준 대표이사 사임, 미국 모회사 쿠팡 Inc. 해롤드 로저스 신임대표로

2025. 12. 10. 서울 – 쿠팡은 최근 개인정보 유출 사태와 관련, 박대준 쿠팡 대표이사가 사임했다고 10일 밝혔다.

박 대표는 “최근의 개인정보 사태에 대해 국민께 실망드린 점에 대해 매우 송구스럽게 생각한다”며 “이번 사태의 발생과 수습과정에서의 책임을 통감하고 모든 직위에서 물러나기로 했다”고 말했다.

박 대표 사임에 따라, 쿠팡의 모회사인 미국 쿠팡 Inc.는 이번 사태를 적극적으로 수습하고, 고객들의 불안감을 해소하기 위해 해롤드 로저스(Harold Rogers) 미국 쿠팡 Inc. 최고관리책임자 겸 법무총괄(CAO & General Counsel)을 쿠팡의 임시 대표로 선임했다.

로저스 신임 임시 대표는 개인정보 유출 사태에 따른 고객불안을 해소하고, 대내외적인 위기를 수습하는 한편 조직 안정화에 주력할 방침이다. 따라서 미국 쿠팡 Inc.가 개인정보 유출 사태에 대한 수습을 위해 적극적으로 나설 계획이다.

쿠팡은 “개인정보 유출 사태로 심려를 끼쳐드린 점에 대해 깊이 사과드린다”며 “재발 방지를 위해 정보보안을 강화하고 신뢰 회복에 최선을 다할 것”이라고 말했다.

Coupang Corp (Korean entity) announced on December 10th that Coupang Corp Representative Director Park Dae-jun resigned in relation to the matters around the recent personal information leakage.

Park said, “I am very sorry that we disappointed the public with the recent personal data incident.” He continued, “I share the grave responsibility regarding the occurrence of the leakage and how it was handled and decided to step down from all my positions.”

Following Park’s resignation, to actively address the situation and ease customers’ anxiety, Coupang Inc. — the U.S. parent company of Coupang Corp— has appointed Harold Rogers, CAO and General Counsel, as the interim representative director of Coupang Corp (Korean entity).

The new interim representative director will focus on alleviating customer anxiety, settling the data breach issue both internally and externally, and stabilizing the organization. Hence, the plans are that Coupang Inc. actively steps up to resolve the personal data leak incident.

Coupang said, “We offer the deepest apology for the worries the recent personal data leak has caused.” The company continued, “We will significantly enhance our information security to prevent recurrences and will do everything we can do to recover trust.”
